Lil Red
Man, we're working on a bunch of big neat projects right now which is super fun but no good for bloggin'.
I hope that you'll want to see some production art for a short, directed by Julia Vickerman, we recently finished for the good folks over at Red Baron Pizza. (thanks Ted!) They're going to show it in a big Semi-Truck trailer that travels around. What a venue!
A title card. I'm kind of lame but I'll never stop loving to look at title-safe templates. We should watch all shows through these sights.
And here is the star of the show waiting for the world to be drawn around her. She kind of looks like her director eh?
Here's the first sketch of her hanger.
...and the sketch over her drop zone. This gets inked and colored in illustrator and then....
Broken up and brought in as planes. This is what happens when you rotate the camera angle..kinda neat.
...and I liked this first sketch of the plane that Curtis did. He just finished his "Aces" comic book about WWI bi-planes, so he came into the project able to draw these things from every angle without reference. What luck! More Lil' Red later...
