HARVEY the D-O-double G!

Say hello to Harvey, the almost newest member of the PUNY team. She's a wonderful dog who's really into shopping, eating, and snorkeling. Having Harvey around the studio has been really great, but she has a bit of a mean streak, here's an example.

Today I cheerily sprang through the door ready for a great day of working hard.

"Greetings all!" I exclaimed.

"Good morning." Yui replied.

"Hello!" Curtis said.

"Hiya." Amanda answered.

"Salutations." Ashley muttered.

"And a merry greeting to you as well." Shad whispered.

"Hola!" Matt spoke.

"Hey there." Mitsuru screamed.

"Aloha." Mitch gargled while slurping a cold soda.

"Hail." Joe also answered.

"Welcome." David replied.

I then received a warm wave from Vincent, and a slight nod from Victor.

Just then Harvey stood up and slowly trotted in my direction. I extended my hand for a pat but received this instead.

Unfortunately such behavior is no longer tolerated at Puny so we had to shackle her to a table. Oh how I miss those good old days!

Bloggin' ain't easy...

...when there is so much other stuff to do.

We moved the studio all around this weekend so that everyone has a place to sit. People even have their own chairs. I tried to clean out the fan on Mike Owen's computer and now it just flashes a blue "helppp meeee" light. He's not coming in on Monday so we should have time to fix it. Otherwise everything works and we can hit the ground running on Monday morning.

People moving stuff.

I was playing with a calculator that Cory has been developing and saw this error message. Thanks for the breathing room Cory!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US and YAY 2008

Today is PUNY's first birthday! The last few weeks have been all about reflection as we've had to put together documents for proposals and banks and so forth and I'm super happy with our first year. We were a little nervous that people would see us as whatever they DIDN'T need. Animation clients would see us as software dev. Interactive clients would see us as animators. Design clients would see us an illustration house. Slick brands would see us as weird. Indy folks would think we were corporate. The conceptually needy would see us as a production house. etc. etc. While some of this happened, especially with Target, we ended up with a year of great projects that have set us up for a 2008 that I literally dance around when thinking about.

This Interactive Entertainment thing is working out! We've rounded out the team over the last year to include five programmers with three computer science and two physics degrees between them and a visual side of twelve people all whom have their own books, films, and even fanclubs but still stick around to drive PUNY.

I'm not sure how much blogging will happen over the next few weeks as I imagine we'll all be putting our heads down tomorrow to start creating the "what are you guys working on?" for the first part of 2008.

What are you guys working on?

--Cool development engine for interactive characters.
--A live/action animated show pilot featuring a super rock band.
--A animated pilot based on a beautiful kid's book.
--Some toys.
--Huge animation and music heavy site for ONDCP.
--Two major toy co. sites loaded with games and applications.
--Programming a half dozen media sites for various clients.
--Redoing a game development co's site and promo sites.
--On the cusp of getting the GO GO GO a site that is going to blow minds.

and this summer:

and a gallery show at First Ammendment in the fall.
